Karen Saunders

Karen has turned her hand to writing for children of all kinds - but is now firmly ensconced in the world of Suzy Puttock, the star of her first novel.

Me, Suzy P, Karen's debut novel, is a romantic comedy which was released to rave reviews in January 2013.

'HIGHLY entertaining romp of good-natured fun. Suzy is a wonderful, snarky, klutzy, lovable narrator and I absolutely flew through this book' - Winged Reviews

'A must read' - GirlTalk Magazine

'One of my favourite reads of 2012... immensely enjoyable, fun-filled read' - Newbooks Magazine

'... a funny, feelgood teen book by a brilliant new author' - Bookster Reviews

Karen has just completed the excellent sequel - Suzy P: The Trouble with Three, which will be published by Templar early in 2014.

Her first picture book, Baby Badger's Wonderful Night, was published by Gullane in 2011 and rights have been sold to USA/Canada, Holland, China and Thailand.

'An ideal choice for bedtime' - School Library Journal

'Beautifully illustrated in gentle colours, this is the perfect bedtime story for anyone who is even a little bit afraid of the dark, sensitive and reassuring and lovely rhythmic text' - Parents in Touch

'Air and sky sparkle and shimmer with colors, almost making the hush of night palpable' - Publishers Weekly

Karen has written commissioned series fiction for 7+ for Orchard and has also worked with publishers in their brand licensing departments, writing novelisations, activity books, poster books and annuals for brands such as H20, Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Disney Princesses, Disney Fairies, Camp Rock, Hot Wheels and Marvel Super Hero Squad.
