The winners of the Scottish Children's Book Awards were announced during the Wee Write Festival in Glasgow's Mitchell Library. Each age group had a separate event this year, and all of the authors attended to bask in the adulation of their readers.
The shortlist was a strong one, and we were delighted when Chae Strathie won the picture book category for his fantastic Jumblebum, illustrated by Ben Cort and published by Scholastic.
That great news was followed by a roar of approval from the children when Janis Mackay was announced as the winner of the middle grade category for her novel The Accidental Time Traveller, published by Floris Books.
Huge congratulations to all the shortlisted authors and illustrators, and many thanks to Scottish Book Trust, the organisers, and to all the schools who took the time to vote.
We're looking forward to next year's Awards already!
