Scottish Children's Book Awards

The Caird Hall in Dundee was the setting for the presentation of the Scottish Children's Book Awards this year. As ever, the event was an extravaganza of readings, performances, music, magic, a little dancing, singing, authors and illustrators.

Chae Strathie was the compere for the afternoon and we were delighted when the older fiction category was won by Barry Hutchison for his brilliant Afterworlds novel, The Thirteenth Horseman

Congratulations to all those shortlisted - Catherine Rayner, Julia Donaldson, David Roberts, John Fardell (who won the picture book category), Catherine MacPhail, James Killgore, Jonathan Meres (who won the middle fiction category), Elizabeth Laird and Elizabeth Wein.

And congratulations to the Scottish Book Trust production team for a lively and joyous afternoon.
